Homemade Ramen

A comforting bowl of ramen that comes together in under 30 minutes, allowing for customization to suit your taste.

Ingredients

  • Ramen noodles (or your favorite type of noodles)
  • Chicken (breast or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces)
  • 4 cups chicken broth (low sodium preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • Spinach, carrots, and green onions (or your choice of fresh veggies)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon ginger (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional for spice)

Instructions

  1. Sauté aromatics: In a large pot, heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  2. Cook the chicken: Add the chicken pieces to the pot. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is no longer pink, approximately 4-5 minutes.
  3. Add broth: Pour in 4 cups of chicken broth and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Incorporate vegetables: Add your choice of vegetables, such as spinach and sliced carrots, to the pot. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the veggies are tender.
  5. Prepare noodles: While the broth is simmering, cook the ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  6. Combine and season: Gently stir the cooked noodles into the broth. Season the ramen with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes to taste.
  7. Serve: Ladle the hot ramen into bowls. Garnish with additional green onions, if desired, and enjoy your homemade ramen!

Notes

Don’t overcook the chicken and choose fresh veggies for the best flavor. Adjust seasoning as needed.
