Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup buttermilk
1 large egg
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Non-stick cooking spray or additional butter for greasing
Instructions
Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well blended.
Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk the buttermilk, egg, and melted butter until smooth.
Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; some lumps are okay.
Preheat the Pan: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease it with non-stick spray or butter.
Cook the Pancakes: Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and edges look set, about 2-3 minutes.
Flip and Finish: Carefully flip each pancake and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
Serve Warm: Stack the pancakes on a plate and serve warm with your favorite toppings.
Notes
Don’t overmix the batter to prevent dense pancakes. Keep the heat medium to cook them evenly.
