Air Fryer Apple Pie Bombs

Delightful and comforting Air Fryer Apple Pie Bombs filled with sweet, cinnamon-spiced apples and wrapped in fluffy biscuit dough, perfect as a snack or dessert.

Ingredients

  • 1 can of biscuit dough
  • 2 cups of peeled and diced apples
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon of lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of flour
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

  1. Prepare the filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the diced apples, sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and flour. Toss well to ensure the apples are evenly coated.
  2. Preheat the air fryer: Set your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) and allow it to preheat while you prepare the dough.
  3. Roll out the dough: On a clean surface, roll out each piece of biscuit dough into a thin circle, about 4-5 inches in diameter.
  4. Fill the dough: Place a spoonful of the apple filling in the center of each dough circle. Be mindful not to overfill.
  5. Seal the bombs: Fold the dough over the filling and pinch the edges together firmly to create a sealed pocket. Ensure no filling escapes during cooking.
  6. Brush with egg wash: In a small bowl, beat the egg and brush it over the tops of each pie bomb. This will give them a nice golden color.
  7. Spray with cooking spray: Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray to help them crisp up.
  8. Air fry: Place the apple pie bombs in the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching. Cook for 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Serve and enjoy: Remove from the air fryer and let cool slightly before serving warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side.

Notes

To avoid overfilling, ensure you leave space when filling the dough. Keep the dough cool for easier handling. Monitor cooking time as air fryer models vary.
